One way the needlework world will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary is the America’s Tapestry project. This week we talk to Stefan Romero, creator and driving force behind the project. America’s Tapestry involves original art that tells mostly unknown stories about how people in the 13 colonies contributed to the Revolutionary War effort. The art will be stitched by local EGA Guilds and other groups of stitchers in the 13 states. In our conversation with Stefan, we learn how the project came to be, what’s involved in creating these pieces of needle art, and how stitchers from across the country can participate.
