Today is the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, at least in the US, and I am very excited to see this film. But before that, I wanted to look back and discuss Sonic 1, 2, and the Knuckles TV show. In this mini-retrospective/review, I cover the pros and cons of each property, how they relate to the games, and some of the core elements that made the films, and the TV, to a lesser degree, work as well as they have.Editor's note: This was recorded before Sonic 3's release and was supposed to be out earlier in the week but unfortunately that didn't work out due to some scheduling issues. With all that being said enjoy the episode and leave a review on your podcast provider of choice.Stephen Whiley produced the FPTC theme, check out his work here: https://soundcloud.com/stephen-whiley Hosted on Acast. In the podcast's second episode, Vincent and I discuss the Fallout series from Amazon, X-Men 97, and the X-Men's ties to video games. Towards the end, we have a brief chat about upcoming adaptations in film and TV.Editor's note: Like the previous episode, this was recorded in early 2024 and took a while to edit due to hardware issues. So there are points where we refer to some adaptations that weren't out then, like Borderlands, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and Arcane Season 2.With all that out of the way enjoy the episode and leave a review on your podcast provider of choice. The FPTC theme was produced by Stephen Whiley, check out his work here: https://soundcloud.com/stephen-whiley Hosted on Acast. In the podcast's first episode, Vincent and I introduce ourselves before moving on to the main topic of conversation which is video game adaptations and whether they are improving. It is a very chilled-out and casual discussion about how far this genre has come and where it is in the modern landscape of film and TV.Editor's note: This episode was recorded in early 2023 and took a while to get edited due to hardware issues. So if some adaptations like Twisted Metal or Five Nights At Freddy's are missing from the discussion then you know why. With all that out of the way enjoy the episode and leave a review on your podcast provider of choice.
